Cranial Osteopathy is a safe, gentle and effective treatment that is suitable for all ages from new born babies and children to the elderly. Specific, skilled, light pressure is applied by your cranial osteopath where necessary which can help to relax the body.
Due to the gentle nature of treatment it is very often used when treating pregnant ladies and children.
There are many changes to a woman’s body during pregnancy and after birth. During pregnancy ligaments relax, there are changes in weight distribution as well as postural changes. This can lead to additional pressure on joints in various parts of the body, including the spine or pelvis.
Babies and children’s skeletons are still developing and so are not as strong as a fully grown adult skeleton. Your osteopaths will therefore use gentler techniques such as cranial osteopathy when treating children.
